Aqua Berries (アクアベリー, Akuaberī) are aggregate Fruit Ingredients that can be found on the Wak Continent and are highly prized by the locals, especially those who live near Sand Garden.
Description[]
Aqua Berries are large, round, light purple fruit made up of many small teardrop-shaped components with swirl patterns, and green leaves sprouting from the top. Its overall shape and appearance closely resembles a pineapple or a bunch of oversized and unusually shaped grapes. While reminiscent of these other fruits, the small teardrop-shaped components are the drupelets, making Aqua Berries more similar to blackberries.
The fruit grows on the sheer cliff faces of the Sand Cloud Valley. To survive growing in the near constant sandstorms of the valley, Aqua Berries have incredibly tough skin and a waxy coating to reduce water loss. The dark color of the flesh helps the plant to draw in more sunlight for photosynthesis.

Aqua Berries are inedible. The only part of them safe for human consumption is the juice, which the Fruit holds more of than would seem possible. A single drupelet is said to contain enough juice to satisfy a person's thirst for a year. However, this is only true from the 21st of January to the 19th of February.
Obtaining the juice of Aqua Berries is a jealously guarded secret of those who live by Sand Garden as they fear that if it became common knowledge then no one would bring the beloved Fruit to them to have the juice extracted. The price of having the juice extracted is half of the extracted juice. While this may not seem fair, a perfectly ripe cluster of Aqua Berries can provide enough juice to fill three Olympic sized swimming pools.
The juice of Aqua Berries is a very dark, almost black, purple color. Signifying high levels of antioxidants. The flavor is described as a mix of Blackberry, Raspberry and Blueberry. Only 100 times stronger. This means that Aqua Berries have a strong sour-sweet flavor, the balance between the two varies from fruit to fruit, but all always taste tart to some degree.
