Obsidian Jelly Starfish (曜石ゼリートデ Kokuyōseki Zerītode) is a species of giant starfish living in Ashen Blaze Island's Bowl Bay.
Anatomy[]
The starfish has a large, hill-like body. Its skin is pitch black, covered by bumps. The skin is extremely hard and can resist incredible pressures, heat and overall damage.
The starfish holds to the seafloor of Bowl Bay with its 10 tentacles, with strength to resist any force that water could generate.

As Food[]
Obsidian Jelly Starfish is one of the tricky foods of Ashen Blaze Island. Its indestructible shell hides is incredibly delicious, glowing yellow jelly-like meat.
In order to bypass its defence, one needs to get to the bottom of its body (which is also incredibly difficult, but considerably less than cracking open its super hard shell), and find a line that seperates the eight tentacle from the middle part of its body. This part is easy to slice open with a sharp knife and from there, peel the bottom skin of the tentacles, to reveal tons of delicious jelly meat.
The texture and rich taste of the meat is indescribable and it has been motivation for many Bishokuyas to train and be able to capture it.
